Poisoned LiteLLM release steals cloud and AI credentials
This is a DailyCyber.News update, brought to you by BareMetalCyber.com, for Thursday, October 22nd, 2026.
Our third story concerns systems that ran LiteLLM 1.107.0. Cloud, AI, and developer credentials on those systems may be compromised after attackers inserted a credential stealer and remote-access backdoor into the release. It was distributed through Python and Docker registries before being removed.
The malware targeted browser data, cloud credentials, AI provider keys, S S H keys, and other secrets. It also enabled remote command execution. The total number of affected systems remains unknown.
LiteLLM often sits close to valuable application and infrastructure credentials, so one poisoned package can cross several trust domains. Systems using version 1.107.0 or related Docker tags should be treated as potentially exposed. Leaders should remember that deleting the package doesn’t invalidate secrets that may already have been stolen. Defenders need to investigate every environment where Python ran after installation, including containers and continuous integration runners.
Stop version 1.107.0, hunt for its indicators, and rotate exposed credentials from a clean environment.
