FBI seizes domains behind China-linked critical infrastructure attacks
This is a DailyCyber.News update, brought to you by BareMetalCyber.com, for Friday, October 9th, 2026.
The FBI has seized seven domains supporting two hacking platforms linked to China-based Integrity Technology Group. Authorities said MicroScan was used for vulnerability scanning, while FishHub supported phishing, malware delivery, remote access, and data theft. The wider activity targeted critical infrastructure and organizations across government, healthcare, technology, education, manufacturing, and law enforcement. Investigators also found files belonging to more than 20 organizations on a linked server.
The seizure removes known infrastructure, but it doesn’t establish that every associated intrusion has been contained. Leaders in targeted sectors should treat broad scanning as a possible precursor to compromise. Defenders should review the joint advisory’s indicators, patch exposed systems, disable unnecessary services, and enforce multifactor authentication. Authorities confirmed successful breaches at two Taiwanese universities, but they did not confirm breaches of every named critical infrastructure target.
The practical priority is to review the published indicators and focus first on exposed systems that match the attackers’ known techniques.
