AI-assisted cyberespionage has expanded to simultaneous attacks against more than 200 organizations across 14 countries. The operation began October 17th and compromised at least nine organizations. At least 12 other high-value targets faced password spraying and credential scans. Human operators directed ARTEX, DeepSeek, and another commercial model while AI agents handled reconnaissance, exploitation, web shells, credential theft, and alternate attack paths. The attackers were even instructed to skip protected Windows hosts and focus on unprotected systems.

The targets included government, telecommunications, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, defense, nuclear, and financial organizations. The agents increased the number of systems and attack paths that one human-led operation could pursue at the same time. Leaders should recognize that uneven security coverage now creates obvious routes for automated operators. Defenders need to close endpoint coverage gaps and watch for identity abuse, password spraying, web shells, and rapid multi-stage activity. The priority is complete endpoint coverage and identity monitoring across every internet-facing and high-value system.
