Active Ivanti attacks raise the urgency for secure access updates
This is a DailyCyber.News update, brought to you by BareMetalCyber.com, for Monday, November 2nd, 2026.
Organizations using Ivanti Connect Secure face active attacks against two newly identified weaknesses. One can support privilege escalation for a local authenticated attacker. The other can let a remote authenticated attacker place controlled content at a known location on disk. These weaknesses can also be chained with a previously reported code-execution issue, which is why the combined risk has been rated high.
Successful exploitation could lead to data manipulation, higher privileges, and a path toward deeper control of the targeted system. Remote-connectivity systems are especially sensitive because they sit on a trusted access path into the organization. For leaders, delayed remediation means leaving a security gateway exposed while exploitation is already happening. For defenders, the priority is to confirm affected versions, apply vendor fixes, and investigate suspicious privilege or file activity. The larger lesson is that attackers often combine several weaknesses instead of relying on one dramatic flaw. Patch affected Ivanti Connect Secure systems now, then review them for suspicious uploads, privilege changes, and signs of related compromise.
